More than Rs 17 crore cash was recovered from the house in the raids. There were 10 box mills in the house, 200-500 and 2000 notes were put in 5 boxes. This raid was made on Aamir Khan’s house in Garden Reach. The raids started on Saturday morning. Cash counting continued until late at night. The ED team was accompanied by bank officials and central forces.

The ED conducted these raids on September 10 under the provisions of the Money Laundering Prevention Act (PMLA), 2002 in connection with the ongoing investigation regarding mobile gambling applications. The research firm said that after collecting a significant amount through the mobile gaming app after the users invested money, the withdrawals from the app were suddenly stopped, on the pretext of not upgrading the system. Earlier on Saturday, the central agency had carried out a search of six places in Kolkata in connection with the investigation regarding the mobile gaming application. The ED said that during the search, it was noted that the entities involved in the case were using fake accounts and had made millions of rupees by defrauding the users.
