Hyundai Motor India Limited has already started testing the new Verna. It will be launched in India next year. Hyundai could be part of the brand’s 2023 launch strategy, which includes the Creta, Ionic 5 EV and the facelifted Kona EV. Hyundai Motor is expected to keep the 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines and may incorporate mild-hybrid hybrid technology for improved mileage. The Hyundai Verna will probably get a more powerful 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine with 140 hp and 242 Nm of torque.
