Tata Motors has launched its flagship Safari SUV in a new model. The names of these variants are XMS and XMAS. The 2022 Tata Safari XMS and XMAS variants have been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 17.96 lakh ex-showroom. This new mid-spec variant sits between the XM and XT finishes of the seven-seater SUV

The diesel manual variant of Tata Safari XMS costs Rs 17.96 lakh while the diesel automatic variant is priced at Rs 19.26 lakh ex-showroom. Generally, Safari prices currently range from Rs 15.35 lakh to Rs 23.55 lakh ex showroom. It competes with MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar.

Know about the engine of Tata Safari

The 2022 Tata Safari XMS is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine, which can also be seen in other variants. This engine generates 167 hp power and 350 Nm peak torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic transmission. Tata Safari XMS is only available with a seven-seat layout.

Speaking of features, it gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. However, it does not have IRA connected car technology.
