The Toyota Fortuner will make its debut next year in a redesigned form. The new SUV model could launch in Thailand first, followed by other Southeast Asian countries. It may come to India in late 2023 or early 2024. There will be many cosmetic changes in the 2023 Toyota Fortuner. It also gets new body panels. It will include more features and can come with a hybrid powertrain. It can be based on the TNGA-F platform instead of the existing IMV architecture.

The same platform can also be found in the new Toyota Innova Highcross that will appear in early 2023. Toyota’s global Tundra, Sequoia and Land Cruiser SUVs are also designed on the TNGA-G platform, which supports wheelbase lengths from 2850mm to 4180mm. The new Fortuner can get a 1GD-FTV 2.8L diesel engine with mild hybrid technology and Integrated Starter Generator (ISG). The diesel hybrid powertrain could be called ‘GD Hybrid’. The new hybrid powertrain will make the SUV more fuel efficient than before.

In terms of features, the new Toyota Fortuner 2023 will be more updated than the current generation model. The SUV could be offered with ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), including blind spot detection, automatic emergency braking, automatic parking assist, adaptive cruise control, collision warning and lane departure warning. The existing hydraulic steering wheel can be replaced with an electric drive unit. The new Fortuner could come with a Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) system.

The current generation Toyota Fortuner comes in between a price range of Rs 32.59 lakh to Rs 50.34 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes in 9 variants. With its design, features and mechanical upgrades, the price of the SUV will also increase.
